Iowa breaks scoreless tie at Wrigley Field with short passing TD

Iowa has broken through at Wrigley Field! Early in the second half, the Hawkeyes came up with a massive special teams play to flip the field, and it paid off!

Opening the second half on offense, Northwestern was forced into a punt deep in their own territory. This time, the Hawkeyes got through, partially blocking the punt and setting the offense up with the ball in the red zone.

The ensuing drive was not loaded with highlights, but it was effective. Iowa covered 25 yards in 7 plays while leaning into the ground game.

From the 2-yard line, the Hawkeyes dialed up a play-action pass, and it worked to perfection. Deacon Hill was able to find TE Addison Ostrenga for the short throw and plunge into the end zone for the score.

After a scoreless first half, getting 7 points on the ball could prove to be gargantuan in this one:
