According to reports, Ohio State CB coach Kerry Coombs is going to move on to the NFL and join Mike Vrabel’s Tennessee Titans staff in 2018.

That leaves coach Urban Meyer’s Buckeyes with a hole to fill on the coaching staff, but Meyer isn’t upset with the departure of his assistant.

According to ElevenWarriors.com, Meyer released a statement wishing Coombs and his wife, Holly, the best at the pro level:

“I want to wish Kerry Coombs and his wife, Holly, the very best as Kerry pursues another opportunity in the National Football League and they begin a new chapter. Kerry is a great coach and a great friend, and I thank him for the contributions he has made to this program in his six years with us.”

The Buckeyes will probably try to fill the new opening before National Signing Day next week. Who Meyer decides to hire, though, remains to be seen.
