Tony White, Nebraska’s defensive coordinator, met with reporters Tuesday to discuss Nebraska’s Week 10 loss to Michigan State while looking ahead to Week 11 against Maryland.
White and the Huskers defense did not perform well against a struggling Michigan State squad. The Spartans snapped a 6-game losing streak Saturday against White’s defense.
White admitted that he did not give enough opportunities for his Nebraska defenders to be unleashed and make a play.
Nebraska DC Tony White says he wasn’t aggressive enough in his playcalling against Michigan State:
“I don’t think I gave the guys enough opportunities to unleash and make a play.”

The Huskers did not force any turnovers and let Katin Houser work in the backfield without much disturbance. Nebraska did get home for 3 sacks, but Houser still finished 13-20 for a touchdown. Sam Leavitt threw a touchdown as well.
The Huskers are at an interesting spot right now. They need 1 more win to crack bowl eligibility with matchup against the Terps, Wisconsin and Iowa remaining.
Will the Huskers win 1 more?
