Ryan Day admitted Tuesday afternoon that there are plenty of areas in which Ohio State football can improve despite their No. 1 CFP ranking.

The Buckeyes may be No. 1, but they haven’t punched their ticket yet. And they’re likely out of contention for the playoff if they can’t down Michigan at the end of the year.

Day told reporters that Ohio State’s urgency to improve is at an all-time high right now despite signs that OSU is moving in the right direction.

Check out more of what Day had to say below:

A big part of improvement for OSU, according to Day, can come from how the Buckeyes come out of the gate early. Ohio State has not scored more than 10 points before halftime since Week 7’s win over Purdue.

The Buckeyes draw Michigan State this Saturday on NBC, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
