Maryland has lost a 3-star offensive tackle commit in their 2024 class.

Samir Camacho announced he was decommitting from the Terrapins football program on Tuesday.

“I just wanna say first and foremost I thank God for blessing me with the opportunity to have an offer from the University of Maryland,” Camacho said. “I would like to thank the University of Maryland and the entire coaching staff for their consideration, for the love, and the support throughout the entire process. I wish them nothing but the best for them in the future.”

Camacho is listed at over 6-3 and 281 pounds. He’s ranked as a 3-star OT prospect out of Cy Falls High School in Houston, Texas. Camacho is the No. 1063 overall recruit in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also ranked the No. 86 OT in the country, and the No. 154 recruit in the state of Texas. Camacho has also earned offers from Duke, Kansas, Texas A&M, and UTSA among others.

Camacho’s decommittment brings the Maryland recruiting class down to 19 total commits. He’s the 4th played to decommit from the Terrapins in this class, and it brings their overall rankings to No. 42 in the country and No. 13 in the Big Ten.
