When you think of some of the fiercest rivalries in college sports, you think about Auburn and Alabama in football, Duke and North Carolina in basketball and Ohio State and Michigan in, well, everything.
Therefore, the fact that former Michigan guard Andrew Dakich, son of former coach and current ESPN analyst Dan Dakich, is playing at Ohio State this year as a graduate transfer is very unusual.
However, Dakich did end up in Columbus and has played an important role off the Buckeyes’ bench. He explains his decision to transfer to the Wolverines’ biggest rival in the Big Ten Network segment below:
“Where’s Andrew…I need a point guard desperately.”
– When @dandakich received that call from @ChrisHoltmann about his son @daycheck3, the opportunity became too good to pass up.

Dakich is currently averaging career highs in every category, playing 17.9 minutes per game and averaging 3.2 points, 2.2 assists and 1.8 rebounds.
He’s found a home in Columbus, but it remains to be seen how he’s received in Ann Arbor next Sunday when the Buckeyes visit the Wolverines.
