Michigan is rolling on the road against Maryland, and the big plays have started without the Wolverine offense on the field.

The first game-changing play happened with the Terrapins facing a 3rd-and-10 deep inside their own territory. With Taulia Tagovailoa scrambling to avoid pressure, Michael Barrett wrapped him up and knocked the ball free.

Derrick Moore was there for the scoop and short return for a defensive touchdown.

On the ensuing drive, Michigan’s defense again went to work. Tagovailoa was sacked on 2nd-and-8 to set up a long 3rd-down play, and another quick pass rush forced Tagovailoa into an incomplete pass.

On the 4th-down play, Maryland tried to punt, but Christian Boivin busted through the line and was on the punter in a heartbeat. The punt was blocked into the end zone, and the Terrapins kicked the ball out of the end zone for the safety.

As a result, Michigan finished the first quarter with 16 unanswered points and the Wolverines are rolling now in a crucial Week 12 game.
