Braelon Allen was not expected to be able to go in Week 12, head coach Luke Fickell confirmed after the game against Nebraska. However, Allen did give it a go, and he produced some clutch moments as a result.
Allen delivered a pair of key touchdowns in the win, including a 3-yard plunge in overtime, as the Badgers rallied from a 14-0 deficit. His score in overtime proved to be the difference in a 24-17 win for Wisconsin.
According to Fickell, he was not expecting Allen to be available prior to kickoff, but the performance wound up showing a lot to the head coach. Fickell also believes Allen’s best work came when Wisconsin was down in the game and provided a boost.
Luke Fickell said he didn’t expect Braelon Allen to play tonight.
Allen went for 22 carries, 62 yards, and 2 TD’s on a bum leg.
“He’s another one of those guys that showed me a lot tonight. I think he was much better when we got down. That’s something we needed.”#Badgers
