Paul Finebaum, Matt Barrie discuss outcome of The Game CFP committee would like

Paul Finebaum and Matt Barrie tackled a number of topics coming out of Week 12 with Rivalry Weekend on deck. That includes the B1G where the winner of Ohio State and Michigan is likely on tap for a trip to the College Football Playoff.
Barrie particularly made the case the winner of The Game should be a heavy favorite for the CFP with a matchup against Iowa the only thing standing in the way. He also believes the loser of The Game will be eliminated from Playoff contention, and that goes double for Michigan.
“The Big Ten champion is going to get in because they’re playing Iowa in the B1G Championship,” said Barrie. “Now the one thing I will say, I thought for a minute I was with you that the lose of Ohio State-Michigan could get in like they did a year ago. I’m of the opinion that the second Ohio State beats Michigan, Michigan’s done.”
“I agree with you on that. I totally agree,” Finebaum admitted.
Barrie went so far as to say the committee “would like that” if the outcome is a loss for Michigan:
“The committee would like that,” said Barrie.
“I think Michigan’s got nothing to go for it, and let’s not waste too much time on Michigan,” Finebaum requested. “I feel like Jim Harbaugh’s living in my house right now.”
Overall, the committee has said this season that Michigan’s sign-stealing investigation is an NCAA issue and has not impacted the ranking of the Wolverines. However, there would undoubtedly be some blowback from fans and potentially from other programs if Michigan rolls into the Playoff in the middle of the investigation.
