Former two-time All-American Billy Price suffered a partially torn pec at the NFL Scouting Combine Thursday, according to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport. Price’s MRI results came back Friday morning.
The injury occurred during the former Ohio State lineman’s third rep on bench press, and that’s not good news considering he’s a potential first-round pick. As soon as the injury occurred, Price was in considerable pain and immediately grabbed his left pec.
Price started an impressive 55 consecutive games for Ohio State, and not all is lost for Price, as this injury will surely heal. It is a shame, though, that he didn’t get to complete his workouts in front of NFL scouts.
Ohio St offensive lineman Billy Price suffered a partially torn pec while doing the bench press yesterday, sources tell @TomPelissero and me. The MRI results came in this morning, and it’s not clear is surgery is required. Price is one of the draft’s top O-linemen.
