Paul Finebaum blasts Jim Harbaugh for Ted Lasso quote: ‘I’m kind of stunned really’

Paul Finebaum was not amused by Jim Harbaugh’s Ted Lasso quote on Monday during his press conference.

When talking about keeping his locker room cohesive throughout the outside noise that comes with the sign-stealing investigation, Harbaugh looked to Ted Lasso for inspiration.

“With all the outside noise, our locker room’s in one piece,” Harbaugh said on Monday. “Locker room is a lot like my mom’s bathing suits; like to see them in one piece.”

While the comment got some chuckles from reporters, Finebaum was not laughing. The long time analyst and commentator wanted to see a more serious version of Harbaugh on Monday.

“Greeny, weren’t we sitting here a week ago and Jim Harbaugh was saying I can’t wait to get to that TRO hearing so I can be heard, I can finally have my side of the story, and that’s the best he can come up with, quoting a make-believe caricature from television,” Finebaum said on Get Up Tuesday morning. “I’m kind of stunned really, that that’s all Jim Harbaugh can do. I’ll save the adjectives because I think we’ve used them all up, but it’s just fairly disappointing. Because he had an opportunity yesterday to address all the bad news that happened last week, and what was that? His school caved in to the Big Ten. The school fired a coach, speculation that he may not even coach next year. And he quotes Ted Lasso. Brilliant.”
