Paul Finebaum believes that The Game on Saturday between Ohio State and Michigan could serve as a CFP elimination game.
Both teams come into The Game undefeated and the winner will play in the Big Ten Championship. It is also very likely that the winner will be the team that goes on to the College Football Playoff.
Finebaum believes that if Michigan loses The Game, it will most certainly be an elimination game, but he thinks Ohio State would still have a slim chance if it loses.
“It is if Michigan loses,” Finebaum said on First Take on Tuesday. “They have absolutely no road to the Playoffs because they played just a complete garbage non-conference schedule. Ohio State has a slightly better chance, because Ohio State went on the road a couple months ago and won at Notre Dame. That’s an impressive win, Notre Dame isn’t elite, but they’re good and that’s a tough road win. Michigan’s done and Ohio State’s in trouble, but with a chance, only a chance.”
The Game should be a fun one. Michigan has won the last 2, but Ohio State is looking to get revenge. The Wolverines will be without head coach Jim Harbaugh, who is serving a 3-game suspension.
The matchup is always intense, and Saturday will be no different.
