Jim Harbaugh’s coaching future has been the subject of plenty of speculation. With his Michigan program facing 2 NCAA investigations, fans and media members have pondered if Harbaugh might make a move to the NFL for the 2024 season.
If Harbaugh does want to go back to the pros, his Michigan scandals won’t affect his candidacy, according to NFL insider Jay Glazer. On FOX’s pregame show Thursday, Glazer shared that teams initially wanted to hear more about the sign-stealing investigation, and they feel better about Harbaugh based on what has come out.
“All the teams I’ve talked to say regardless of what we hear in that investigation, that’s not going to affect the way we look at Jim Harbaugh if he wants to come back and coach in the NFL.” @JayGlazer has more on Jim Harbaugh potentially making his way back to the NFL ⬇️ pic.twitter.com/4b44dl0PBA

Speculation of Harbaugh coaching in the NFL doesn’t come out of left field. Before taking the Michigan job, Harbaugh was 49-22-1 in 4 seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, including a trip to the Super Bowl.
The Minnesota Vikings interviewed Harbaugh for their head coaching position on Feb. 3, 2022, National Signing Day. This past NFL offseason, Harbaugh interviewed virtually with the Denver Broncos.
Harbaugh is currently serving his second 3-game suspension of the 2023 season, which will keep him off the sidelines for the top-5 showdown with Ohio State. Bruce Feldman of FOX Sports reported last week that if Harbaugh returns to U-M, he could be suspended for the bulk of the 2024 season.
