Michigan avoids flag for blatant late hit, body slam of Deacon Hill

Michigan and Iowa are battling it out for the B1G Championship in Indianapolis, and the two sides are playing a defensive struggle between the two sides.

Overall, the Hawkeye offense has struggled to get anything going, including a low output from quarterback Deacon Hill. However, one particular hit drew the ire of Iowa fans after Hill was drilled late.

On the play, Hill was sandwiched between two Wolverine defenders as he released the ball. But well after he had released the ball, Hill was bodyslammed to the turf by Michigan’s Braiden McGregor.

At the time of McGregor’s body slam, Hill did not have the ball in his hands, and it looked like the textbook definition of a roughing the passer penalty:

In the end, no flag was called on the play, and fans reacted to the no-call on social media:
