Tough break for former Wisconsin DB Nick Nelson.
During a private workout for an NFL team, Nelson tore his meniscus and now needs surgery, according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport. Nelson will likely miss the next 3-4 months following next week’s scheduled surgery, but he should be ready to return for the start of the season.
Nelson is largely projected to be a fourth-round-type of prospect in the upcoming NFL Draft.
The talented DB was a consensus first-team All-Big Ten in 2017 and should have a solid NFL career.
