Wisconsin is set to lose a key assistant coach to Notre Dame, according to a report.

The Fighting Irish are set to hire Wisconsin’s Mike Brown as its next receivers coach, according to 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz.

Brown is widely-regarded as a rising star in the coaching ranks. At 34 years old, he’s already risen to the level of being a top position coach in the college game. Brown has NFL experience as a player as well, having played for the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2012-14.

Brown spent 1 season at Wisconsin as the program’s wide receivers coach and associate head coach. He followed Luke Fickell from his staff at Cincinnati when Fickell got the head job in Madison.

Brown overlapped with Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman and quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli while with the Bearcats.

At Notre Dame, Brown would replace the departed Chansi Stuckey as the team’s wide receivers coach. Stuckey was fired by Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman last week after two seasons with the program.

Wisconsin will face LSU in the ReliaQuest Bowl on Jan. 1.
