One Ohio State wide receiver and a former 5-star recruit for the Buckeyes is opting to hit the transfer portal.

That player is Julian Fleming, a former top WR coming out of high school who spent 4 seasons in the program. Fleming battled some injuries during his time in Columbus and was never able to carve out a featured role in the offense.

“I want to thank Ohio State and all the amazing people who were a part of my rollercoster of a journey,” Fleming wrote on social media. “It was an amazing four years and I have built relationships that will last a lifetime with so many of my fellow players as well as coaches. Playing in Columbus has truly been one of the greatest times of my life and I want to take the time to thank the entire Buckeye nation for all the support! With that being said I am entering my name into the transfer portal for a final year!”

Coming out of high school, the 247 Sports Composite rated Fleming as the No. 3 player and the top WR in the 2020 recruiting class. His best season in the program came with 34 catches for 533 yards and 6 touchdowns a season ago.

Fleming appeared in all 12 games during 2023, but his usage dropped considerably. Overall, he produced 79 catches for 963 yards and 7 touchdowns as a Buckeye.
