The Wisconsin Badgers will be on the look for a new backup quarterback ahead of the 2018 season, as backup QB Karé Lyles announced he would transfer from the program.

Lyles is a rising redshirt sophomore, having taken a redshirt in 2016. He did not see any action in 2017.

As you can see below, Lyles announced his decision to leave Wisconsin via Twitter late on Friday night:

Lyles was a 3-star prospect out of high school, and the Arizona native was a member of the Badgers’ 2016 recruiting class.

Whether he heads back closer to home or tries to play somewhere else remains to be seen, but the Badgers will need a new backup for starter Alex Hornibrook.
