Nebraska volleyball and Texas met Sunday to decide the national championship. In the end, the Longhorns are once again at the top of the volleyball world.

From start to finish, the action on the court was dominated by Texas. The Longhorns won the first set 25-22 in what would prove to be the closest set of the entire match.

The second set swung on a sequence involving Texas’ Asjia O’Neal. She delivered 4 straight aces in the set to pace the Longhorns to a 25-14 win to move up 2-0 over the Huskers.

Nebraska never had an answer in set 2 as the Huskers allowed 7 aces in the set. The Huskers tried to rally in the third set, but it was not meant to be.

In the third set, Texas went on a run of 5 points after Nebraska closed the margin to 14-10. The Huskers would break that run at 19-11, but the Longhorns responded with 6 straight points to secure the national title in a straight sweep.

Particularly fitting, O’Neal clinched the match with one final ace for Texas:

Texas’ Madisen Skinner led all players in the win with 16 kills. Asjia O’Neal was a versatile producer for the Longhorns, delivering 4 kills, 3 digs, 3 blocks and the crucial 5 aces in the win.

For Nebraska, Harper Murray led the Huskers with 7 kills, but the Huskers struggled to get the ball to the floor against the Longhorns. Lexi Rodriguez had 6 digs, and Bekka Allick had 4 blocks in the final match of the season.
