Denver Broncos reportedly considering sitting Russell Wilson for final 2 games

The Denver Broncos are reportedly considering having star QB and former Wisconsin Badger Russell Wilson sit the final 2 games of the regular season.
The reasoning is only semi-complicated. Denver has a very remote shot at a playoff spot, sitting at 7-8 on the year. The Broncos would consider sitting Wilson to preserve some financial flexibility, not wanting the aging star to suffer a serious injury.
The original report of the Broncos’ considerations were reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The Broncos have looked like a different team as of late, even if it looks like they will still miss out on the playoffs. Denver lost 5 of its first 6 games on the season and has since won 6 of its last 9, including impressive wins over Kansas City, Buffalo and Green Bay.
But it seems to have been too little, too late.
