Blake Corum says Jim Harbaugh ‘stood tall’ in face of criticism this season

Blake Corum knows there’s no overstating what a national title would mean for head coach Jim Harbaugh.

Not only would a title be Harbaugh’s first national championship as Michigan’s head coach, but the 2023 season contained an unprecedented set of circumstances. That included a pair of 3-game suspensions for Harbaugh, the midseason resignation of analyst Connor Stalions, the midseason firing of Chris Partridge and the ascension of Sherrone Moore as a bona fide head coaching candidate.

Speaking with College Sports on SiriusXM, Corum praised Harbaugh for the way he carried on in the face of outside noise and criticism. Corum said being suspended for 6 games was “not easy” for Harbaugh but the coach managed to stand tall and keep fighting.

“It would mean a lot just because we know he’s been through a lot this year. You know, suspended 6 games, that’s not easy. Everyone calling him this and that, just to see how he stood tall and kept fighting and fighting with us and we fought for him,” Corum praised. “It would mean a lot.

“Coach Harbaugh’s won everywhere he’s been. I saw something on Instagram, and everywhere he’s gone, he’s won. He’s an amazing coach.”
