Jim Harbaugh is letting his players take in the national title win with some extra rest and relaxation. The Michigan coach revealed on “SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt” that spring practice will be happening later than usual.
Michigan typically begins spring practice around Valentine’s Day. However, Harbaugh decided to start it about a month later than expected. The Michigan head coach is excited for springtime in Ann Arbor.
“Well, we’ve got a 1 o’clock check out tomorrow, and then we’ll get back to Ann Arbor, 48 hours. And we’ll give the guys some time, too,” said Harbaugh. “I told them 3-4 days ago, we’re moving spring practice back. We usually start on Valentine’s Day, February 14th, because we love football. This year we’re gonna move it back about a month. It’ll be good too, we’ll have some nice weather in the spring in Ann Arbor.”
It won’t be long before teams will be having spring practices all across the country. This offseason will be a big one for the B1G as it welcomes 4 new members to the conference. Washington, Oregon, USC, and UCLA will be the latest additions to B1G country.
For now, Michigan players and fans alike will have something to treasure during the offseason.
