Reddit’s college football account (@RedditCFB) had a field day when the new-look Nittany Lion. Penn State unveiled the new logo last Tuesday, and the lighter shaded cat has not been welcomed with open arms.
The old logo hadn’t been updated since the 1980’s, which was before the school entered the Big Ten. According to a Star-Ledger article, the university spent two years and $128,000 on a consulting firm that helped rebrand the logo.
Some used memes to tell the story. Some used photoshop. Some just used the logo itself. Here are a few of the tweets poking fun at the school’s new logo.
