Ohio State is in the mix for an elite Florida prospect, but they will be going up against some key competition.

TJ Alford is one of the top linebackers in the country for the 2025 recruiting class. On Friday, he officially updated his recruitment with his list of the final 6 programs still in the mix for his commitment.

A key prospect out of Florida, Alford kept Tennessee and the in-state Gators out of the SEC in the mix. Fellow Florida-based programs Florida State, Miami and UCF are also in the mix while Ohio State out of the Big Ten rounds out Alford’s list.

Alford’s eventual decision will be revealed with a March 30 commitment date:

Alford is listed at 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds out of Vero Beach High School. The 247 Sports Composite rates the linebacker as a 4-star recruit and the 10th overall linebacker in the cycle. He’s also a top-100 prospect and checks in as the No. 70 player in the 2025 recruiting class.
