Jahkeem Stewart has a couple of seasons of high school football remaining, but he’s already narrowing the focus of his college decision. The elite 2026 defensive lineman from New Orleans told Hayes Fawcett of On3 on Tuesday that he is looking at 15 teams moving forward.

From the Big Ten, Stewart is looking at Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State and USC. The B1G programs will be hoping to convince the Louisiana native to leave SEC country. Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M are also in the mix.

A standout of St. Augustine High School, Stewart’s listed measurements are 6-6, 270 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Stewart is rated the nation’s No. 1 overall recruit in the Class of 2026. Florida, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Mizzou are among the other programs that showed early interest in Stewart.

Stewart completed his sophomore season in 2023. If he doesn’t reclassify, Stewart is looking at about 22 more months of being recruited until he can sign in December 2025. Stewart may verbally commit early and “shut things down,” but 5-star prospects are usually recruited right up until a Letter of Intent is submitted.
