Iowa’s renovations on Kinnick Stadium expected to make it much louder

Already, Iowa’s Kinnick Stadium is one of the toughest places for opponents to play (just ask the 2017 Ohio State Buckeyes).
Now, it’s set for an upgrade that will make it even louder, which has to make opposing squads even more nervous to head to Iowa City.
As you can see in the video below, Michael Kearns, the senior construction project manager, explains exactly how the north end zone seating upgrades will amplify the volume:

“We are expecting to be substantially louder,” he says around the 2-minute mark. “With filling in the corners and then having a taller structure to bounce sound off of, it’s going to be a lot louder than the old stands.”
The Hawkeyes will host their first home game of the 2018 season on Saturday, Sept. 1, when the Northern Illinois Huskies come to town.
