Minnesota Athletics announced on Friday that football coach Jerry Kill agreed to a one-year extension.

Kill will be under contract through the 2019 season and will receive a $300,000 raise.

Kill, who made $1.2 million per year under his original deal, was given a one-year extension in Feb. 2014. That raise, according to Gophers beat writer Marcus Fuller, bumped his annual contract up to $2.1 million per year, but still put him in the bottom half among Big Ten coaches.

The news comes one week after Minnesota athletic director Norwood Teague resigned from his position because of a sexual harassment scandal.

Kill will kick off his fifth year with the program against No. 2 TCU on Sept. 3.
