Maybe the college game just isn’t for Mike Riley after all.
Following the end of his three-year run at Nebraska, which ended in a disappointing 19-19 overall record, Riley was fired by the Cornhuskers. He quickly returned to Oregon State this offseason but will reportedly leave that position to become the new head coach of the new San Antonio Alliance of American Football team.
If this news is accurate, the AAF now has all eight head coaches for the inaugural 2019 season. The league is set to begin play immediately after the upcoming football season.
Alex Marvez of Sirius XM NFL Radio was the first to report the news regarding Riley heading to San Antonio:
Multiple sources have told me to expect @DarylJohnston to get named GM of the new Alliance of American Football franchise coming to San Antonio. Mike Riley is expected to get named head coach.
