Georgia football just landed a monster at quarterback for the Class of 2026. Jared Curtis, the No. 1 overall QB prospect in the 2026 cycle, committed to Kirby Smart on the Bulldogs on Saturday.

Curtis chose Georgia over some of the best schools in the country, including Ohio State, Alabama, Texas and his home-state school, Tennessee. The 6-4, 225 QB from Nashville is considered to be the No. 9 overall prospect in the Class of 2026 according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

Curtis threw for 25 touchdowns and just 9 interceptions his junior year at Nashville Christian, accumulating over 2,50o passing yards across the year. This is Georgia’s first pledge of the 2026 class, but the Bulldogs already have the No. 2 overall cycle behind only Ohio State. It is thought Georgia’s main competition for Curtis was the Buckeyes.

Georgia has a strong Class of 2025, but it’s not ranking as high as some classes of Georgia’s past. The Bulldogs have a pledge from a pair of 5-stars: DL Justus Terry and TE Elyiss Williams.
