Michigan State’s recruiting efforts have taken a few big hits in recent weeks and the hits keep coming as Athens, Ga., native Jordan Huff has informed Mark Dantonio he is no longer committed to the Spartan program.
News of Huff’s decommitment was first reported by Chad Simmons of Rivals. Following this news, Michigan State still holds pledges from 15 commitments in the 2019 recruiting cycle.
While the news was tough to break to Coach Dantonio, credit the Georgia native for at least doing the right thing and informing the Michigan State coach over the phone.
“It was hard — very hard,” said Huff to Simmons. “It was not easy, but I called coach Mark Dantonio and let him know I was decommitting Thursday. To let him know of my decision was very tough. It was not an easy call to make.”
The focus of Huff’s recruitment has now turned to Tennessee, Louisville and Georgia Tech.
