Former Notre Dame RB CJ Holmes was a 4-star recruit coming out of high school in Connecticut during the class of 2017, but his career with the Fighting Irish was a short one.

That’s because Holmes was arrested for shoplifting and kicked off the team prior to Notre Dame’s appearance in the Citrus Bowl.

Now, though, he has apparently found a landing spot, as 247Sports reports that Holmes will be joining the Penn State program as a walk-on athlete.

Holmes had eight carries for 32 yards during his brief Notre Dame career, with all of those carries coming in a game against North Carolina.

Holmes, who was recruited by Penn State last year, too, will have to sit out the 2018 season due to NCAA transfer rules, but would be eligible to play (and would have three years of eligibility remaining) starting in 2019.
