Marvin Harrison Jr. was the first wide receiver taken in the 2024 NFL Draft last week, going No. 4 overall to the Arizona Cardinals.
Harrison headlined a star-studded crop of wide receivers in this year’s class, and will have very high expectations going into his rookie campaign.
Several sports books have already posted season-long props for Harrison (and a few of the other top rookies). Here’s a breakdown of what those markets look like just days after the 2024 draft.

Since 2010, there have been 15 pass-catchers to clear 1,000 yards in their rookie season. Former BYU receiver Puka Nacua broke the rookie record just last season with 1,486 yards for the Rams.
Several other elite 1st-round receivers have had no issues getting to the 1,000-yard benchmark in recent years. That list includes Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Garrett Wilson, AJ Brown and Chris Olave, amongst others.
Harrison also has the benefit of playing alongside a star quarterback in Kyler Murray. Murray is perhaps not an elite quarterback, but this is still a good situation for a wide receiver who was picked in the top-5 of a draft. Murray is a 2-time Pro Bowler who will be playing in his first full season since tearing his ACL late in the 2022 campaign.
The Cardinals’ WR room is also wide open. They traded Marquise Brown, who was the team’s leader at wide receiver in 2023 with 574 yards. Tight end Trey McBride led the team in receiving yards with 825 yards, but there’s still plenty of opportunity for a player of Harrison’s calibre to make an impact in Year 1.

Like the receiving yards prop, there’s plenty of history to suggest that elite wide receivers have no issue getting to 7+ touchdowns in their rookie seasons. Chase, Odell Beckham, Mike Evans, Michael Thomas and Brown are amongst the pass-catchers to accomplish that feat.
Just last season, 5 rookies (Jordan Addison, Jayden Reed, Sam LaPorta, Tank Dell and Rashee Rice) went over 7 receiving touchdowns despite not having anywhere near the kind of prospect pedigree that Harrison possesses.
Three of those players amassed over 100 targets on the season — something Harrison should have no issues doing as long as he remains healthy throughout the year. The Cardinals have had a 100-target wide receiver in every healthy season that Murray has played. Given Arizona’s lack of receiving talent alongside Harrison, he figures to be the top option for Murray by far in 2024 — even if McBride steals some targets in the red zone.
Given the plethora of opportunity Harrison is set to have in Arizona, along with his elite talent level, getting this at plus-money is too much value to pass up.

This prop comes via FanDuel, who has priced Harrison at +150 to lead his rookie counterparts in receiving yards this upcoming season. Malik Nabers +550 while Keon Coleman is next in line at +650. Coleman is perhaps the biggest threat to Harrison in this prop, given that he has a better quarterback and also a wide-open path to playing time in Buffalo.

This prop is priced at +600 across the board. He’s the second-favorite to win the honor behind only USC’s Caleb Williams, who is +200 at most books as of publication. Curiously, Harrison is slotted above two quarterbacks (Jayden Daniels and Drake Maye) who were both selected above him in the actual draft.
Wide receivers do win this honor pretty frequently. Garrett Wilson and Ja’Marr Chase have both won it in the last 3 years, and Nacua likely would have won last year if not for a historic rookie season from CJ Stroud. Of the last 10 OROY awards, 3 have gone to wide receivers, 4 to quarterbacks and 3 to running backs.
