Ohio State added an elite wide receiver to its 2025 recruiting class on Friday afternoon.
The Buckeyes earned a commitment from 4-star Quincy Porter, who also held offers from programs such as Georgia, Florida State and Michigan, amongst others. Instead, he’ll head to Columbus to try to continue the tradition of elite wide receivers at Ohio State.
Porter shared the news of his announcement with On3’s Hayes Fawcett:
BREAKING: Elite 2025 WR Quincy Porter has Committed to Ohio State, he tells me for @on3recruits
The 6’4 205 WR from Oradell, NJ chose the Buckeyes over Michigan, Penn State, Alabama, & others
Is ranked as a Top 32 Recruit in ‘25 (per On3) 👀🌰https://t.co/vsTMv2iyJZ pic.twitter.com/P8s3IeOZpS

Porter also told Fawcett that he has canceled an official visit to Michigan and will be shutting down his recruitment.
Porter is currently a 4-star, but he’s in-range to potentially earn a 5th star before the end of this cycle depending on how the next few months go. He’s currently the No. 49 overall player and the No. 8 wide receiver in this class, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
He attends Bergen Catholic in Oradell, New Jersey. He’s listed at 6-foot-3, 190 pounds.
Porter is a nice addition to what was already the No. 1 recruiting class in the country for the class of 2025. The Buckeyes now have 15 commits in this class, and Porter’s arrival will only strengthen their hold on the top spot. He’s also now the highest-ranked wide receiver Ohio State has so far in this cycle.
Here are some highlights from Porter’s junior season:
Ohio State has high expectations for the 2024 season.
