Michigan picked up a commitment from a key linebacker in the class of 2025 on Monday.

The Wolverines landed a pledge from 3-star Chase Taylor, who hails from Georgia. Taylor has several high-profile offers, including programs such as USC, LSU and Clemson, amongst others.

He shared his announcement via On3’s Hayes Fawcett:

Taylor is an intriguing linebacker prospect whose ranking could rise in the coming months, given his impressive offer list. He’s currently the No. 583 overall player and the No. 61 linebacker in the country for the class of 2025, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

However, he’s earned offers from USC, South Carolina, LSU, North Carolina, Clemson, NC State and Louisville since the beginning of this year, which indicates that a bump in the rankings may be warranted. Michigan initially offered him a scholarship back in October of 2023. He took an official visit to Ann Arbor over the weekend before making this decision.

Taylor attends Stockbridge High School in the state of Georgia. He’s the No. 63 player from the Peach State, per those same recruiting rankings. He’s listed at 6-foot-3, 201 pounds.

Michigan now has 12 commits in the class of 2025. The group sits at No. 15 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Here are some highlights from Taylor’s junior season:
