Ohio State added a big-time recruit to its 2025 class on Friday afternoon.

The Buckeyes earned a commitment from 4-star defensive lineman Trajen Odom, adding to their top-ranked recruiting class in this cycle.

Odom is an elite prospect in the class of 2025. He’s the No. 284 overall player and the No. 31 defensive lineman in the country for this cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 7 player from the state of North Carolina.

Odom attends Weddington High School in Matthews, North Carolina. He’s listed at 6-foot-4, 285 pounds.

In addition to Ohio State, Odom made trips to Oregon, USC, LSU and UCLA prior to making this decision. His recruitment moved relatively quickly once Ohio State got involved, as the Buckeyes didn’t offer him a scholarship until this past January.

Ohio State has long had the nation’s No. 1-ranked class for the 2025 cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings. With this news, the Buckeyes are now up to 21 commitments in the class of 2025.

Here are some highlights from Odom’s junior season of high school ball:
