USC lands 2025 commitment flipping 4-star LB from SEC power

USC has gone into SEC country and flipped a blue-chip prospect right out of a powerhouse program’s backyard.
Jadon Perlotte is a blue-chip linebacker out of Buford High School in Georgia. UGA was the first program to extend a scholarship offer to Perlotte in May 2022. Georgia continued to recruit Perlotte, and by December 2022 made an early verbal pledge to secure a spot in the Bulldogs’ 2024 recruiting class.
Commitments are only verbal in college football recruiting. Perlotte continued to be recruited by other programs. On Tuesday, he decided to flip his pledge to Lincoln Riley’s program.
Perlotte’s commitment was announced on social media with the help of On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Perlotte is listed as measuring over 6-2 and weighing 202 pounds. He is rated 4-stars, the No. 20 linebacker, No. 21 player in the state of Georgia and No. 165 prospect overall in the Class of 2025.
As the commitments to USC and Georgia show, Perlotte drew interest coast to coast. Other programs that showed interest during Perlotte’s recruitment include Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M.
Perlotte’s decision to flip comes days after he was on USC campus for a visit with Riley and other Trojan staffers.

With Perlotte on board, USC sits at 15 verbal pledges for 2025. The class currently ranks No. 19 nationally on the Composite.
Though he plays in Georgia, USC fans will have a couple of opportunities to watch Perlotte before he joins the Trojans. Perlotte is set to play in two high school all-star games, the All-American Bowl and the Polynesian Bowl.
