Urban Meyer kicked off Ohio State’s media day by addressing the elephant in the room. Naturally, the quarterback battle between J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones was at the center of the conversation.
Meyer answered how the competition was going by talking about the relationship between his two signal-callers.

The two roommates are said to be even for the competition. Meyer did say that he would meet with the coaching staff to discuss privately who they felt like the favorite was after the first week.
Meyer maintained his position that the winner of the job would remain a secret publicly until the Buckeyes take the field in the opener against Virginia Tech.
Whether or not Meyer holds true on his word remains to be seen.
