WATCH: Virginia safety commits to Maryland

D.J. Durkin’s staff picked up a commitment from ACC country this weekend.

Oakton, Va. S Trey Rucker announced his pledge to the Maryland Terrapins in a video he shared via his Twitter account.

Rucker, who measures 6-foot, 190 pounds, is rated the No. 28 Virginia recruit and No. 89 safety on the 247Sports Composite. A 3-star prospect, Rucker also has offers from Indiana, N.C. State, North Carolina, Purdue, Virginia and Wake Forest.

Maryland now has nine commits in a class which ranks No. 67 nationally but last in the Big Ten. Rucker’s commitment video and his high school highlights can be viewed below.
