Hudson Card and the Purdue Boilermakers are on the board for the first time in 2024.
Card and the Purdue offense drove the field with ease on their opening possession of Week 1’s matchup against Indiana State. Card, a former Texas quarterback who transferred to West Lafayette after the 2022 season, found sophomore tight end Max Klare in the back of the end zone and rifled a pass for a touchdown.

Not only was this Purdue’s first touchdown of the 2024 season, it’s also Klare’s first touchdown reception of his college career. The former 3-star prospect out of Cincinnati hauled in 22 receptions for 198 yards his freshman season. With his 6-4, 240 lbs frame, Klare was used mostly as a blocker last year.
Card has started this game very well, it should be noted. The senior from Austin, Texas has completed 9 of his 10 passes for 91 yards and, of course, the above touchdown.
The Boilermakers offense has looked strong so far, even if it’s just against FCS Indiana State. Let’s see how they look on offense following their “practice scripted” first drive of the season.
