Drew Allar is leading his Penn State Nittany Lions against the West Virginia Mountaineers in Week 1.

The matchup is one of Week 1’s most anticipated, and Allar has been putting on a show so far. With the Nittany Lions up 13-6 late in the 2nd quarter, Allar had a chance to take his team down the field and put up more points before the half.

With the Nittany Lions at their own 25-yard line, Allar loaded up and threw a bomb to wide receiver Omari Evans for a 55-yard completion. Along with his first TD pass of the game, it gives Allar a pair of 50-yard plays in the season opener.

The connection set the Nittany Lions up in great territory with time running out in the first half.

On the very next play, Allar loaded up once again and found Harrison Wallace III for an 18-yard score. The score put the Nittany Lions up 20-6 at halftime.

At the half, Allar has completed 8-of-13 passes for 199 yards with 3 TDs and 0 INTs. Allar also rushed for 15 yards in a remarkable first half.

With the Nittany Lions currently up 14 points, the foot will likely be kept on the gas in the 2nd half. With a win, the Nittany Lions would start off the season on a high note as they prepare for a couple of games against MAC teams before beginning B1G play in Week 4.
