Gary Danielson is broadcasting Ohio State’s Week 1 game against Akron with CBS officially beginning its first full season handling the Big Ten under the new media rights deal. Needless to say, some fans are not thrilled with the assignment.

Week 1 is never going to be the best for teams on the field as they are trying to get into a groove. Not only is that the case for players and coaches, but also referees and even broadcasters can fall into that category of trying to get back into a rhythm.

Danielson and Brad Nessler are the two announcers broadcasting the Akron and Ohio State game, and viewers aren’t enjoying Danielson to start the game. Some are even wondering if he can return to calling the SEC while a handful of SEC fans admit they are thankful he’s no longer handling the conference.

No matter where you fall on the spectrum, it’s a rough Week 1 reaction for Danielson’s call:

Ohio State currently leads Akron 17-3 at the half.
