ESPN’s FPI projects winner of Ohio State’s nonconference game vs. Marshall

ESPN’s FPI has projected the winner of Week 4’s Ohio State-Marshall contest at Ohio Stadium on Saturday, and unsurprisingly, the No. 3 Buckeyes are a runaway favorite to come away with the victory at 96.9 percent.
Ohio State did not play during Week 3, and Ryan Day’s team will look to bump their record up to 3-0 with a win against the Thundering Herd. So far, the Buckeyes haven’t seen much of a challenge: they’ve outscored their opponents 108-6 over 2 games, opening the season with a 52-6 win over Akron before shutting out Western Michigan 56-0.
Marshall, meanwhile, is also coming off an open week as it has split its first 2 games of the season. The Herd took care of business against Stony Brook 45-3 on Aug. 31 but fell to Virginia Tech 31-14 a week later in Blacksburg.
The Buckeyes and Thundering Herd have played just twice on the gridiron. In 2004, the Buckeyes slipped away with a 24-21 win, while their 45-7 win in 2010 was vacated.
Ohio State still maintains some of the best national championship odds at bet365 early in the season. The Buckeyes have the 2nd-best odds in the country at +350 entering Week 4, and fans can track the latest odds via Tradition’s sports betting apps in Ohio.
Kickoff from the Horseshoe is set for noon ET on FOX.
