Michigan tight end, former 4-star prospect, leaving the program

Michigan is losing one of its tight ends shortly before the start of the 2018 season, according to multiple reports.
Late Thursday night, Tom VanHaaren of ESPN confirmed that tight end Tyrone Wheatley Jr. has decided to leave Michigan. No reason for the departure was mentioned.
Wheatley is the son of former Wolverines running back and assistant coach Tyrone Wheatley.

Wheatley has played in 24 games for the Wolverines over the last three seasons. He’s caught six passes for 61 yards and a touchdown.
Out of high school, Wheatley was a four-star tight end and was the top prospect from New York in the 2015 recruiting class.
VanHaaren reported that the decision to leave what Wheatley’s and that he informed the staff of his choice on Thursday.
