Indiana was on the receiving end of some big news Thursday night when McDonough, Ga. wideout Jordan Jakes announced his commitment to IU. Jakes was surrounded by SEC schools, but showed more interest in playing in the Big Ten. He pledged to the Hoosiers over offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Rutgers and other Power 5 schools.
Jakes checks in at 6-5, 195 pounds. The 247Sports Composite rates him as the No. 26 recruit out of Georgia and No. 164 wide receiver in the 2019 class. Indiana now has 14 commitments in a class with No. 11 Big Ten and No. 48 overall Composite rankings.
Jakes made his announcement via his Twitter account, sharing a note along with a “committed” graphic and a photo. His highlights are available below.
