A talented 3-star defensive end has given his verbal pledge to Minnesota this weekend, selecting the Golden Gophers over offers from several other B1G programs.

M.J. Anderson, one of the top 25 players from the state of Missouri in the 2019 recruiting class, announced via Twitter that he’ll be rowing the boat to Minnesota to play college football.

“I’m humbled and blessed to say that I am committing to the University of Minnesota,” Anderson tweeted Saturday.

Anderson becomes the 25th member of the Gophers’ 2019 recruiting class, which currently ranks 24th nationally and sixth in the B1G.

Per 247Sports, Anderson is the 69th-ranked defensive end in the class. He chose Minnesota over offers rom Purdue, Rutgers, Nebraska and Michigan State in the B1G. He also had offers from Notre Dame, South Carolina and Oklahoma State.
