LOOK: Stat shows which Big Ten teams lead in low-scoring wins last 5 years

Big Ten teams have long had a reputation of playing stingy defense. A stat compiled by an ESPN writer provides confirmation that has been true the past five seasons.
On one of the last slow Sundays before the 2018 season is in full swing, ESPN’s David Hale was crunching some numbers. On Twitter he shared an interesting finding that, over the last five seasons, Texas Tech had lost 19 games in which they had managed to score at least 30 points. A follower asked what about number of wins scoring fewer than 30 points.
Hale found that among the Power 5, a trio of Big Ten teams lead the way. Northwestern also shows up in the seven.
Good question…
