It didn’t take long for Tyrone Wheatley Jr. to find a landing spot.
Many were surprised when news broke earlier in the week that Wheatley would be leaving the Wolverines right before the start of fall camp. The Wolverine legacy has decided on where he’ll continue his football career, with Stony Brook announcing Sunday that Wheatley has decided to join the Seawolves.
Wheatley will be immediately eligible as a junior for the 2018 season. At Michigan, he played in 24 games, catching six passes for 61 yards and a touchdown.
Wheatley’s father, former UM standout and current Jacksonville Jaguars running backs coach Tyrone Wheatley Sr. told reporters he supported his son’s decision.
