College GameDay was live from Cal Saturday morning to jumpstart the Week 6 slate of college football. Across the segment, ESPN’s panel of hosts tackled all the major matchups of the weekend, including a rematch of the national championship game.

That game features Michigan traveling out west to face Washington in their first matchup as Big Ten opponents. While the two programs did face off in the title game last season, it hardly feels like the same team for either program.

Both head coaches from the national title game — Kalen DeBoer and Jim Harbaugh — have since moved on to new challenges, so it will feel like a distinctly different group one either side of the ball. College GameDay’s crew picked the game Saturday morning, and it was a unanimous vote in favor of the Wolverines.

Washington, though unranked, is the 1-point favorite at home per bet365, in spite of Michigan being ranked No. 10 nationally. Here are the picks and rationale from GameDay:

Desmon Howard: Michigan. “Rematch in logos only, and I pick Michigan to win again.”

Nick Saban: Michigan. “I’m going with Michigan because I don’t think Washington can matchup up front. Their offensive line is not as big and physical as Michigan, and I think it’s going to create some mismatches that will impact Will Rogers in a big way.”

Marshawn Lynch: Michigan. “My little cousin Marcus Peters is going to hate me for this, but I’m going Michigan.”

Pat McAfee: Michigan. “Michigan plays football I think the way we all appreciate… They’re pounding the rock. Washington’s favored, I don’t understand why.”

Kirk Herbstreit: Michigan. “Rece, you’re going to have to save the graphic here. I’m going with Michigan… I think Michigan goes on the road and wins.”
