Sherrone Moore and the Michigan Wolverines are back to the drawing board after losing to Washington 27-17 in a rematch of last season’s national championship. The quarterback position has been the biggest issue the entire season and was once a huge reason why the Wolverines blew a 4th quarter lead in this game.

Jack Tuttle came in off the bench in the second quarter this week and finished 10-of-18 for 98 yards, while throwing both a touchdown and an interception. Alex Orji started the game, but he had only 15 yards passing.

None of the quarterbacks for Michigan have gone out and taken control of the job, and Moore is still undecided on who is going to start moving forward.

“I thought (Jack) came out early and gave us a spark,” Moore said. “We had 3 straight drives where we had a touchdown, field goal and a touchdown. He practiced well all week. He got back healthy which was great for us. We will see if he is the starter. But he obviously gave us the best chance.”

Michigan has already utilized two starting QBs after Davis Warren won the job coming out of training camp. He eventually gave way to Orji who has started the last 3 games, but Orji’s lack of a passing threat has been evident in his time on the field.

With the bye week coming up, the Wolverines do have some time to look back and consider who to start before their game on October 19 against Illinois.
