Dan Lanning and the No. 3 Oregon Ducks look to send a message to college football and the B1G as they host No. 2 Ohio State on Saturday.

The Buckeyes are loaded everywhere, but the receiving corps is an area where Lanning says the Buckeyes present a ton of challenges.

“Stop, go,” Manning said during his press conference. They can catch the ball and they can turn it into a big play right away. It is not always average depth of target, it is way down the field. Their ability to catch the ball in space and get vertical. They block really well on the perimeter and those have big catch radiuses. You see them win on 50-50 passes.”

Jeremiah Smith and Emeka Egbuka are arguably the best duo in the country, but Lanning says there are other really good receivers on the team. Carnell Tate is the No. 3 option for the Buckeyes though still an elite talent and playmaker.

“They got more than 2 great wideouts, they have several great wideouts in their program,” Lanning said. “Certainly those 2 are very special, but whether it is Tate, there is a lot of them on the field that play winning football. That’s what makes this a challenge is you can’t say you’re going to focus on one guy because there are other guys on the field who can beat you.”

This is a huge step up for both of these teams in terms of competition, and it is being looked at as the game of the year in the B1G. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET and the game will be aired on NBC.
